Yup, this one couldn't be clearer in my opinion. Skirmish and expansion/contraction are not mutually exclusive. I have used this one many times.
Best used by 6 element, regular units to alter (direc ...

I'm not sure that I've ever considered it, but I think that I agree with Paul: the concept that a unit would not become disordered for breaking through enemy, but *does* become disordered if that enem ...

Is it just me or is that a big change? I have never seen such a situation played this way. This will radically alter players approaches to break through moves. I have always played, and se ...

You might try the later period list if your figures can stretch to Knights. LHI varagians plus HKs are a nice hitting combination. A mix of reg LC, LI and double armed LMI skirmishers should allow you ...

Adrian,
Sounds like the first commercial version is available. Any idea where I can buy a copy?

As you say JLS armed LC can be useful. It can scout, shoot, charge; and JLS is an effective weapon against one of their primary targets - LI. However heavier JLS armed cavalry is less effective. Witho ...

If (a) is going to be considered seriously, then this must apply only against foot. There is no reason why HC should get two full ranks against HK, EHK, SHK, SHC, or EHC.

Can you please expl ...

For exceptional troops like Normans though I think this would work if they were impetuous as stated.

Cool.

I disagree with them being able to charge when uneasy as that would break the ps ...

There is a very important point here. From my reading of this thread, people are in part attempting to discuss a rule to cover a specific battle - Hastings. I believe what Mark is asking is valid. If ...

Seleucid is played alot in Australia. This is possible due to the conditions of our comps. We play 2 25mm, 6' x 4', 1300 point comps per year. On these small tables, I find the combination of companio ...

Chariots are a very interesting and under-represented troop type in comps. (here anyway). Ewan makes some good points on the use of light chariots. They are a cheap cause of unease, very maneuverable ...
