Don, what we really want to hear about is how Ghaznavids lost to a knight
army.....

I'm a transplant here myself, resident for "only"
about 20 years. The folks are wonderful. They will
entertain and feed you and keep your mug full of, well
your favorite cold beverage is the way to say it. They
make you feel like family. Then on tournament
Saturdays, they will beat you like a rented mule and
smile and thank you all the while. I feel privileged
to be among this rambunctious and vocal lot.

I can personally vouch for Mikes aggressiveness!! He was all over me on
bound 2 and did not stop till he was out of bullets. It was a cool fight as
we each saw our own left flank get smashed within 3 bounds and the battle
wheeled to the center. Lots of CPF for both sides.

Thanks muchly, I have the Hutchby and Clark lists. They are quiet
popular in Australia, though I think they tend to be a bit
fantastical in some of the things they permit and allow too much
freedom with very few compulsories. I will admit to using their
Parthian list to some success in recent times SHC, L, B are great

Ah. I heard a rumor that you lost to Greg's KSJ in the 'final' and was
wondering about that.

My Ghaznavids were undefeated! I got 2nd on a tie breaker. Also I faced no
Knights all day, so I do not know how they perform against SHK yet.

Bah! KSJ fight for the wrong reasons. Only through Allah will you be
victorious (or are the Ghaznavids Hindi?).

Well Don ... the Christians were there on Sunday, ready to fight!

The basic assumption of course is that my offering of The Holy Religion, is a
knight army, and the result of a knight v. elephant battle would be found out. I
think you have played against "The Infidel" enough times to know that it is
actually a missile army, that happens to have a smattering of knights.

One day affairs are great fun, but not really tournaments in my mind. The winner
is the guy that gets the right draw. This is the reason we San Antonio guys
pester you Dallas guys so much about playing on Sunday. Without the Sunday game
between the top two, it's tough to get a true winner.

Happily, this is almost always two San Antonio players, so Pyric victories are
rare. ~wink~

Well you had one this time! For me Sunday is family and get ready for work
day. If I am out of town it is travel day and I want to get home ASAP. The
alternative is to not play at all.

We really enjoy playing with you Dallas guys and you have some pretty good
players up there, but I have to confess that the Sunday thing, twice a year,
just mystifies me completely!

First, it was that you guys didn't want to play two Sunday games, so we cut it
down to one game on Sunday. Then, it was the travel issue, so now we come to
play up in Dallas.

We know you guys have that Dallas superiority thing going for you, but you might
consider bending even a little, just once in a while!

G

P.S. I certainly hope you know this is all a joke!!!!!

This whole thing was of course just cutting up, or perhaps "a screed" was the
proper term ... but as of right now, you guys just have the better facility for
tournaments, and much better evening activities.

We are working on a place to play, and hopefully our city council - that cannot
seem to fix our streets and bridges, but somehow sees fit to tell us what we
can an cannot do - will be bumped out of office in the near future.

Take care ... G

P.S. Trash talk works better if combined with actual winning ... ~wink~

How long has it been since SA threw a tourney anyways? Or are you just not

Actually Pat, I was discussing this with the SAT group this past Monday.
The San Antonio Group needs to host a tournament and the San Antonio Cup.
Even though there is no way that Dallas or any other city could take the cup
away from San Antonio, the San Antonio Group needs to host the cup and give
the other cities a chance, regardless how remote it is.
