A capable player, even with close foot, should be able to do at least 10
bounds in 4 hours if needed to finish the game. My observation, which I stand
by,
is that many players claiming to need more spend wayyyyyyy too much time
executing approaches and closing to contact. I appreciate the 'style' of
skirmishing for 3.5 to get down to it in the last 30 minutes, but that is
neither
'required' to get a decision nor particularly representative of the way most
such
armies fought.

I did not agree with much of what Ewan said on this issue, but I sure am ok
with the idea of timed approaches.....even though I know most of my fellow
players would howl...lol
