PostPosted: Tue Jan 13, 2004 4:33 pm    Post subject: A couple of questions

Leigh and I have been going over the rules in preparation for a
convention at the end of the month and have some questions for you.

1. Evades.
a. Who can evade? One assumes troops who are in skirmish plus light
troops. We could not find a rule on this.
b. If a unit evaded last bound and failed to counter this bound, can
it still evade if attacked this bound? ie, continued to evade from
the previous bound.

2. Camps and transport.
a. Although the camp is 4 Irr D transport elements, can it fight
back if attacked or must it be "garrisoned"? If so, how?
b. If attacked, how many figures has it for casualty calculation?
eg 1 elephant model is equal to 5 figures.

3. Byzantine testudo
I've looked at all the Byzantine lists and it does not specify which
troops can form testudo. According to the rules, any troops "with
shields" can form this but I assume the lists would specify which
troops can. Is it possible to get details on which Byzantine list
and troop type can form testudo?

Cheers, Steve

a: 6.166, paragraph labeled Evade Move on page 42.

b: Yes.

Baggage camp figures are unarmed, so no. See the Warrior clinic #3 on Baggage
Camps in the files section of the egroup.

<<b. If attacked, how many figures has it for casualty calculation?

Transport elements are 5 figure equivalents for CPF - see 10.3.

I defer to Scott for this.

I defer to Scott for this.

Back to my question from a while back,
Scott, Do you envision the Sung Chinese being split into a Northern list as well
as a Southern? I'm wondering because All of the Cavalry of the Northern list
seems to be quite intriguing!

Yep. Only the FHE lists. On the subject of lists..... List 10 in
Biblical Warrior (Akkadian / Later Sumerian) might have an error in
the bodyguard troop. I've looked at teh list errata but this was
not in it.
Quote.
Bodyguard Reg B MI or LMI 2HCW, B or JLS, B @ 20.

OK, so can I get 2HCW+JLS, B ???? Or do I get 2HCW + 2 B? Double
shooting factors? Oops, now getting sily, must the HEAT. hehehe

Cheers

He would Adrian but the scale is wrong. However he is talking about
leasing a semi-trailer to carry all the lead that this army
requires. The last time Steve ran it under the guise of an Uruk III
army it covered a 10 foot frontage.

Yes Steve and I, had a game last night. I am running the dreaded
Araucanians and Steve is running some form of Asiatic cav army. I
believe Kim and a new fella Jerry Hearn are both playing. Paul will
probably play as well so we are improving our numbers. Not sure if
Noel is going to play as well.In

Maybe. Lots of LTS and P, the Pa wil help survive the shooting,
bucket loads of LI with S (for the kniggets). Only problem is, I
gots no 15mm chariots. Can I use my 25mm? Or maybe 15mm
elephants? But then, some churish persons might complain. :)
