An army bought as it was used historically is not cheesy.
But why would you ever do that.
Thus Sassanid should field Clibanarri/HC/EHC in large numbers. :)
"cheesey"
What is the definition of cheesy?
What armies aren't considered cheesy?
What makes an army cheesy?

Sorry, gents, but we are not having a discussion of 'cheese' on any group I
moderate. Please close the thread at this point or go back to the various
strengths and weaknesses of armies. Do not involve yourselves in answering
these questions or discussing 'cheese'.
Thanks for your support!

Sassanid Persians
Strengths - Very Long list to choose from
- Only minimums - Double armed foot with archers in the rear
Also can be unarmed
- 10 elements of HC - most of which
are hid behind SHC
- SHC which itself has a L , B ,
and Sh most SHC only have
L and these SHC can be elephant
proof
- 7 elephants allowed on the list
and are IB
- endless choices of LC and LI
armed anyway you want
reg or irreg available
- list has everything in any amount
that you want except
pike, roman foot, and Chinese
spearmen
- terrain troops are available 56
elements of LMI
Weakness - NO pike, roman foot, Burmese elephant or Chinese spearmen in
list
- the 56 elements of terrain troops are not armed with HTW,
CB, or 2HCW
Sassanid Persian as a whole has an extreme amount of strengths compared to
it's weaknesses.

Gents,
I have found that Brie is not a good army cheese. It does not hold the
paint very well and the spears bend way to easy. Baby Swiss also has the same
problem. Cheddar if well primed should hold the paint job well.

It is a great list with great flexibility. Never said I could get it to work.

Right.
I'll try to send a response to derek's previous post when I have better
formatting available but indeed, 7 HC/EHC Clib elements required. I
use (in my most common 1600 pt army list) 3 as rear ranks, and 4 as a
shieldless HC unit (which is the least useful unit in the army in many
games).
Derek clearly thinks it's a good list, so I'd be interested in seeing how
he would fit 7 IrrB elephants, SHC, terrain troops, massed LI and LC, and
everything else he wants into 1600 points ;)

I stole this quote of the Fumbbl.com boards awhile
back. It's been modifed a couple of times since then,
but it describes my opinion of the whole
"Cheesy/beardy/whatever" you call it mantra some
people have.
"Cheese" and "Powergamer" are the cry of the weak.
Seriously. At best a player is "Cheesy", or a list
"Powergamey" because the player or the list contravene
the personal moral decisions of the accuser (IE YOU)
about the nature of the game, and is hence are
completely redundant phrases that mainly serves only
to highlight the selfish and snobbish attitude of the
person using them.
