First, LTC Grimmett is right. Add the clause "unless impetuous" to the above.

Yes.
If you roll a five or six on a non-impetuous charge or purusit under probe,
hold, or delay orders, IF you choose to make use of the optional distance,
you MUST deduct.

I will change the wording to avoid the confusion the word "optional" is
causing. Probably something like "cannot choose to add."

That is what I was hoping you would do. It is much more clear that
way. Thanks for the ear(s).
