Harlan, that is exactly what I am telling you. I agree that the average Joe
would want to get into the fray, and would likely drift in that direction. I
am also telling you that battles were not fought on football fields and the
given unit's leadership would not likely have unlimited visibility and as
such would likely do all that they could to maintain order and not hang their
flank out facing in the direction from which the enemy they are currently
fighting just came from.
