<< When I was attending USMC Command & Staff College, we did a staff ride at
Gettyburgh. I think it was Sickles who moved some Union corps seemingly way
the hell out in front of the lines on Cemetary Ridge on Day 2. Well, you
walk it and there is a rise precisely where he deployed the corps. The
rationale in a pre-mechanized combat world was that these seemingly
imperceptible rises turned out to be quite important in battles and Sickles
apparently seized on this as being important. >>
This is discussed at some length in the Designers Notes to the 2nd ed AH
game of Gettysburg, to explain why Cemetary Ridge no longer appears. But I
can assure you, strolling up Senlac on a hot summer day takes a lot more
effort than Cemetary ridge.
In another matter. Lugal Gilgamesh has the metalsmiths hard at work forging
instruments of destruction for Fast Warrior at Cold wars. Get ready to taste
the bite of cold copper... (What the hell is this 'Bronze age' stuff? We are
not familiar with the word. )
Yes, the once dreaded but long forgotten 'Army of a Lesser god' is back in
action.

>Heh heh, everybody's a critic:) Somebody else complained about the title
since we have Iron Age armies participating. Somehow "The Bronze and Early Iron
Age Tournament" doesn't have the same cashey (or however cachey is spelled).
Yes, the once dreaded but long forgotten 'Army of a Lesser god' is back in
action.
>The main reason I'm really bummed about missing Hcon is the fact that my
favorite theme period will be played. The Late Hebrews were looking forward to
new opponents in 25mm whereas I was gonna run Midianites or perhaps some total
LI trash list for Fast Warrior on Sunday morning (once you have all the LI for
Midianites, suddenly you can do 12 lists in the period). Oh well:):)
