Two items here.

First, I'd really like to see the NICT lists, Ted Furey's 100YW list and
both of the two Nike Byz lists in particular. Please. And did anyone
actually have the balls to run EIR in the NICT?

Second, as one who played 6 Warrior games this Historicon with 15mm
Early Nikephorian Byzantines using beat-up old Successor phalangites and
Frankish crossbowmen as Skut spear/bow and Chinese cataphracts and horse
archers as their corresponding types and Frankish sergeants as rear
ranks of Lancers...

It was a stretch, I don't typically play armies quite as bad as that,
but maybe as a less-than-wealthy piss-poor-painter trying out a new army
my comment on this one is better left unsaid.

>I can be a stickler for this kind of thing because it reflects poorly on the
hobby and on us. However, so many troop types can be done up somewhat
generically, I certainly don't mind if they get used across armies (I do it all
the time). I mean this can work with many knight armies. However, someone with
Parthian Cataphracts cannot use them as Tibetan Cataphracts, and so on.

>That being said, John contacted me ahead of time asking for "permission" to do
this. I really did agonize over this one because, even in 15mm, I'm a big
believer in all the things that have been posted thus far about presentation,
historical-ness, etc. But, for this one time, I gave in primarily because John
is new and it would be a good chance for him to try out something before making
the lead investment. I figure he knows, and the peer group is cognizant, that
if he liked what he saw, he'll dutifully trot out, get the lead, and start
painting it. Heh heh, right John?

As can happen with me, my comments may have offended where no offense was
intended. I really am quite flexible in my little world of central florida. I
was actually commenting on those who know better and don't try. Hey showing up
with painted lead is half the tournament, and if you show up here I'll even lend
you the painted lead :)

While I am a little blunt with my opinions, please do not take them as
positional flag waving. sorry to have offended.

John,

As you will recall, I offered to bring any lead you might need. . . I was
there with my Arab Empire as usual! :)
