Ok - I've been lurking around on this list for awhile now, waiting expectantly
for Fantasy Warrior to finally be released; alas, it appears that day is
forever stuck sometime in the future, so today I broke down and purchased the
Warrior rulebook.

I did this for two reasons: #1 to aquaint myself with the rules, and #2, to
hopefully incite some interest at two local hobby shops - currently they're all
playing Games Wankshop stuff; however, through nothing other than my own well
strategized, insidiously subversive machinations, I intend to convert them all
to a wargame with some actual backbone - if only because otherwise I'll have
no one else to wargame with, 'cuz I refuse to play Warhammer.

SO! I have two questions:

#1 - What's the likeliness of someone such as myself with niegh barely moderate
intelligence and attention span have in picking up the Warrior rulebook
on my own and learning enough to actualy teach others how to play? Is this
pure folly? But in my defense - what I lack in raw intelligence, I more
than make up for in sheer determination... well, sometimes.

#2 - As I mentioned, the victims... err, guineapigs.... uh - I mean the good
folks I plan on introducing Warrior to all have current Warhammer Fantasy
armies; so that's what we'd be using. How well will Warrior work for this?
Could we play an essentialy psuedo-fantasy with Warrior as it stands? Of
course I realize there couldn't be magic, or dragons, or heroes with giant
flaming swords and whatnot - skaven and exploding snotlings are probably
right out. Gee, I guess I'm kindof answering my own question here... but
anyhow, would standard games wankshop mini's work ok while learning to
play standard Warrior rules?

Thanks!

Corey

Corey

Fantasy warrior is a supplement to Warrior, so you'd have to buy and
learn Warrior anyway.

You can use your Warhammer minis by using the Warrior 30mm scale.
There is an article on how to do this in the files section.

If you'd like to look at Fantasy Warrior and be a playtester, you can
contact me offline.

I'll take a couple pics of Warhammer figs being used in a Warrior
game when I get a chance and post them.

No doubt that Warrior is more complex than Warhammer. I have lots of
experience helping WH players transition. Using Fantasy Warrior is
an advantage as WH players love the freedom of being able to use any
conversion or figure to make their armies the way they want to and
not the way the company says to.

Jon
