Afternoon Jon ...

To me, you did a really good job of outlining what constitutes a
flank shot and what doesn't, i'e. you have to contact with your
inside corner, against the enemy flank and line up from that corner
to the front edge of the enemy's flank. Have you ever considered just
leaving the rule there, and eliminating all other rules on this? The
thought then being:

If you are properly lined up and flush with the target flank, you get
to fight ... if not, you just sit there and expose yourself. If you
are able to get behind a friendly stand of the same body lined up and
flush with a target flank, and you have a weapon that is eligible,
you get to fight ... if not, you are just where you are ... sucks to
be you.

This would eliminate all of that "what is legal" crap. It would all
be legal ... you just may not get what you were expecting. You could
get rid of all that "what to do if charge doesn't fit" ... all
charges would go as planned, but if you can't get lined up and flush
with the flank, you don't get to fight.

Just a thought. We really have no problem with the way it is
currently worded down here, so even if there is no change at all,
your work is still done.

Thanks ... g
