Boyd,
None taken. I actually have a Scots Common army, all Irregular figures.
Some of you may have seen it from time to time. The figures were recently
remolded however, and now the ankles are a little sturdier. The figures have a
variety of poses. By that I mean they have different accouterments but are
generally in the same position. They are also closer to true 25mm than most
of what is on the market today. Of course, I am the company mouthpiece so you
have to take what I say from that perspective.
Jacob

I was just looking at Jake's website where I noticed I could pick up
a Scotts common army starter for $135.

I've not had much dealings with Irregular figs. Any comments? And
please, Jake, do not take offense. Some folks like giant fat figs
like Dixon, some like high animation poses like OG. I tend to prefer
real 25mm average build/detail figs that are less animated.

Irr figs are real 25mm with average build and detail.

People slam these figures because unpainted, they do not come across as sculpted
works of art, particularly when compared to other figure lines.

But, I love Irr minis. They *paint* up fantastic because they have lotsa
creases and relief. If you're a "dipper", they're perfect. If you're a "dry
brusher" they're perfect.

My Burgundian Ordonnance army is 25mm Irr--it's won painting contests at the
HMGS-East cons.

And, Irr minis excel at armies like Scots Common because they're essentially a
Dark Age trash list on steroids and Irr really capture the feel of such armies.

I'm with Scott on this. These figures are not all that impressive
unpainted, but they paint very well.

Boyd,

I think I recall Jake getting smoked in a tournament a few years back when
he was playing a Scot's Common and him mentioning something about selling them
around 200 25mm Lowlanders! lol! :)
