15mm Xyston figs are wonderful!! But the Phoenician Marines are of
the earlier Achaemenid period. The later period they dress in
the "Persian style or fashion" like the Takabara, the shield is the
rimless hoplon type though. They ware lots of purple since they make
the murex (from the seashell of that name) dye. Shields have a white
background and have devices such as "Armies of the Greek and Persian
Wars" by Richard Nelson on pg.21 fig 51, lion(s), lotus, palm tree,
crescent moon or sun-disc.
