what intrigues me...

Alexandrian Imperial, with some unusual toys like experimental
phalanxes and Indian LB-elephant-heavy allies to go with the other
goodies. Maybe Seleucids or Pyrrhic more typically successor-ish.

Or, in a different vein (and probably a better fit for me honestly)...
Early Armenians with SHC/EHC L and some B and a bunch of puny single-
rank LC. And whatever else good stuff they might have.

I used to love Bactrian Greeks but don't have the lead any more and
they aren't in the theme anyhow (too late in the era).
