My Two Cents:
This can, and should, have been handled in the way evades are measured. You
really don't need a lot of rules:
1. If you are evading using option one, "directly to the rear", you turn and
measure evade distance.
2. If using the other option, to move "directly away from the charge", a unit
measures from a front corner like any other move.
In San Antonio, the land of light cavalry (haha), where this comes up three or
four times a game, we have been measuring that way for about ten years now.
