Hi all
This is Mike Morgan a 5th horseman in Australia. I just want to give a
report on the latest Warrior competition in Australia MOAB 2003. MOAB is held in
Sydney and the Warrior section of the competition featured 16 25mm players
competing for 3 days in a competition using swiss chess draw 1300points o0n
6'x4' tables with 2 games per day(3.5 hours).
Players competing were

Paul Collins - Selucid 20 points
Geoff Crick - Scots Isles 12 (2 days)
Chris Craig - Later Teutonic Order 17
Leigh Dunn - Araucanian 17
Murray Evans - Andalusian 9 (2 days)
John Harris - Neo-Assyrian 4 (2 days)
Barry Hayes - 100 Years War English 14
Darren Holmes - Selucid 24
Bob Jeffrey - Indian 13 (2 days)
Nathan Jones - Later Teutonic Order 9
Mike Morgan - Gallic 18
Ian Poade - Nikephorian Byzantine 7 (1day)
Greg Preston - Medeval Spanish 18
Paul Rattray - Rus 18
Guy Sheppard - Arab Conquest 8
Martin Williams - Alexandrian Imperial 24

Winners 1st- Martin Williams (won on a countback)
2nd- Darren Holmes
3rd- Paul Collins
"best and Fairest" player- Guy Sheppard

A great long weekend and a close and friendly competition with Guy truely
deserving his award since he did not seem to be able to roll a plus with his
Irreg As or pass a waver test all 6 games yet was still able to smile through it
and make his opponents fight for their points. I have attached some photos to
this mail so you can see some of us in action.

Cheers
Mike Morgan
