OK folks, new Crusades movie called Kingdom of Heaven from Ridley Scott
coming up in May 05. Stars Orlando Bloom but he looks slightly more rough-hewn
than in Troy and LOTR. Liam Neeson's in it so that's good. From the trailer
seems it has the usual western liberal angst toward war and love and I have a
disturbing feeling the Muslims may be too noble for comfort, however as usual
with a Ridley Scott movie, that doesn't matter cause the spectacle looks
great at first glance. Oh well, we thought the same thing of Troy, King Arthur
and Alexander at first glance too and they all disappointed to one degree or
another. Maybe this will be the one we ancient gamers have been waiting for.
Looks like the 3rd Crusade so hopefully Richard the Lion Heart is a major
character, but he's definitely not ID'ed in the trailer. Anyway here's the

2nd look at the trailer indicates that Bloom ends up a renegade fighting for
Moslems. Could be the pre-cursor period to the 3rd Crusade with Reynald de
Chatillon as the real life villain and culminating in the Battle of Hattin.
