You can have 72 figures of Arab JLS troops and 24 Kushan Spearmen and 72 more
Armenian JLS troops. That is 168 terrain troops. Ewan that is enough I think.

This is true. What Ewan meant to say. There are no exception terrain troops in
the list capable of routing units like Pike on contact. I personally never
run LMI JLS SH IC. I guess Ewan has lost the ability to even see them in the
list. Quite a gift. :)

I'd bite on paying for list rules if you also had to pay for the
diversity allowed in your army list.
But army lists aren't created equal, even though they are forced to
compete on a level playing field, I'm all for no-cost list rules.
But to charge for list rules on many armies would simply be pushing
them out of competition compared to armies that can take literally
whatever the hell they want.
If your list gives you every unit option under the sun, say
Nikephoran Byzantine or Sassanid Persians, you're getting a freebie
too: lots and lots of choice.
Rather than coming up with a system for charging for list rules we
should be talking about a system of rating lists for tournaments so
there's some measure of balance added in. After all, a tournament
should be about who's the better player, not who's got the better
army.
Have fun!
Cole

And yet they are still one of the VERY best armies with no terrain troops which
is very impressive.

Hi Cole et al,
Where are the Sassanians getting "freebies"? We don't have "special"
for the Asravan as standing regiments of elite knights that should
fight as "Irg B" but drill as regulars for example. No cavalry or
infantry sub-units as they historically did have for elephants.
Every option is paid for as per the standard rules. Regional
(Allied) troops will not desert (historical) though; Scott H. was
being generous on that one as I was insisting these were regional
troops with a sub-general not allied. This is a vast empire with
trading outpost in Sumatra, silk routes and trade delegations in
Korea, etc. This is the most advance civilization of its time. We
actually down graded (no Dailami and other similar troops, etc.)
their military potential. Tell some dead and captured Roman emperors
this or please testify for Belisarius. See you at Fall-in.
Sincerely,
Craig (blame me) Scott (o:
