I have been debating on building a later Achaemenid Persian army to face my
arch nemesis (who fields an Alexandrian Macedonian army) to give him a
historical opponent to beat up on and I have a question:
I have a copy of the WRG 6 lists that you folks made available for us
(thanks) and a copy of the NASAMW later AP list and there are some
significant differences in morale and numbers. If I were to follow one or
the other, which would you consider to be closer to the upcoming CW army
lists?
A disclaimer: I realize that I am asking you to look into the crystal ball
and you might not be able to answer this, but if you CAN answer help me out,
I won’t hold you to anything when Classical Warrior comes out - I was just
hoping for a few insights. As a recent post put it: there is a lead
purchase on the line here. lol
Thanks in advance

Scott,
Although I'm not a HO, I have been given the impression that Craig Scott's
Later Achaemenid Persians will be the list used. If you happen to have the old
Spear Point list that he made, you should have a good forecast for what the list
will look like. I hope that helps you while you await an official response from
Scotty.

I would not use the old WRG 6 list. The Achaemenid list(s) will be based on
work Craig Scott has done in Spearpoint.

Thank you for your prompt response.
I guess my next question would be, is there anyone out there that could
forward the list to me or at least point me to where I could get a hold of
it? It might be the same one that I have – but considering I’m not sure
where I downloaded it from (I’m guilty of random wargaming surfing), a
“bona-fide” copy would be reassuring.
Thanks again.

Drop an email to Jeff Zorn at jrz3@.... He's currently working on
getting pdf's of old Spearpoints online. Give me some time and I can possibly
fax you the lists. Send me your fax number offline if you find out Zorn doesn't
have the issues in question online yet.

Thanks again….

Drop an email to Jeff Zorn at jrz3@.... He's currently working on
getting pdf's of old Spearpoints online. Give me some time and I can
possibly fax you the lists. Send me your fax number offline if you find out
Zorn doesn't have the issues in question online yet.

I haven't heard from anyone regarding the Craig Scott list - is there
someone who could help me out? At the very least, point me in a direction
that could keep me going? Feel free to contact me offline if you wish.
Thanks.

Could someone put out a scanned copy of the Craig Scott Later Achaemenid
list?

I guess my next question would be, is there anyone out there that could
forward the list to me or at least point me to where I could get a hold of
it? It might be the same one that I have - but considering I'm not sure
where I downloaded it from (I'm guilty of random wargaming surfing), a
"bona-fide" copy would be reassuring.
Thanks again.

I would not use the old WRG 6 list. The Achaemenid list(s) will be based on
work Craig Scott has done in Spearpoint.

If I were to follow one or
the other, which would you consider to be closer to the upcoming CW army
lists?
A disclaimer: I realize that I am asking you to look into the crystal ball
and you might not be able to answer this, but if you CAN answer help me out,
I won't hold you to anything when Classical Warrior comes out - I was just
hoping for a few insights. As a recent post put it: there is a lead
purchase on the line here. lol
Thanks in advance

Scott,
I need to talk to him on another matter and will give him your email address.
I'm pretty sure he'll send you a copy or the Persian list.
