I do not have a "blatant disregard" for wavers, but I do accept the

fact that there are times that taking the chance of failing a waver is the

way to win the game.

I do not recall EVER being "unconcerned" at a waver test (every die

has a "1" on it after all...) but the game is about morale and you are

most likely going to take (and fail) wavers. So you suck it up and go

on. This may come as a surprise, but I do sincerely attempt to minimise

the waver test that I have to take. It is just that sometimes the

situation on the battlefield dictates that you need to take a waver to

save your unit(s) or kill the enemy. If that is true, you take the waver

and you live with the consequences. However, keep in mind that the waver

MUST further your plan. Do NOT take a waver that is not necessary. (I

will admit that you will run into people that will argue that some I take

are not "necessary". You have to decide for yourself.)

Sometimes you eat the bera and sometimes the bear eats you. I came in

dead last in the team tourney at Cold Wars. C'est la guerre. (Sorry Phil,

I hope that you really did have a good time.)

Just like whenyou get thrown from a horse, you pick yourself up, you

dust yourself off and you get back on.

I like to have terrain to guard the flanks of my army from

flank marches. Other than that I usually like it to be clear. Terrain

just slows me down. I do like to play barbarian foot and it is tough

enough chasing down those horsies when I am moving 120 paces. It is damn

near impossible when I only move 80.

I would really like to get out there for one of the DFW

tournies. Now that the house is sold perhaps I can talk the finance

committee into allowing me to buy a plane ticket there once a year or

so...

There are usually several 'optional' waver tests in a game and if you

patently refuse to ever take them you are hurting yourself. Every situation

is different but there are times when testing waver is definitely the right

thing to do.
