Although I do not know why this tourney is cancelled. We will still plan on
doing something that weekend, picking up the flag and carrying forth (or the
like). Probably teams, 2 FW armies per side.

So if you already had the weekend of 8/16 blocked out, please do not fill in
yet. We are looking to maintain Warrior Fun Day!

Maybe this is just picking up the flag and carrying it.
Harlan, Please reply to my other email.

We'll write everyone on Sunday or Monday.

Sadly the internet method of communication leads to many misinterpretations
of peoples feelings. I sympathise with your plight but would urge you to
reconsider.. I have learned to take internet comment with a pinch of salt. It
seems
that because it is free? everyone can get their opinions read by everyone
else. Personally i would not take it to heart, set out your stall, rules etc and
see who wants to come. I guess most disenters are only saying what they would
prefer because they can, not because they wont come if it is not as you , the
organiser has decided.

mark mallard
uk

sadly i cannot come - but i would play almost any tourney as per organisers
wishes.
i may make comments regarding next tourney but they can be ignored as its
only a comment.

good luck

ps i am stll working on getting a british championship tourney sorted. i am
not familiar with the US tourney circuit. Are you guys running something that
could be called a world championship? And could our winner come and compete?

Dave,

I got sick and tired of all the complaining. Despite all my best efforts to
run a good, fun tournament some people can never be happy. I am sick and
tired of getting beat up by the same people every tournament for stupid,
asinine reasons. So I am not going to host or coordinate any future
tournaments.

Harlan ...

I took some time to look back over the posts about the format, and
for the life of me do not see what the issue is. It looked to me like
opinions, respectfully presented, and nothing more.

I thought you had decided on 1,000 points with middle ranking one-on-
one matchups if a number of players was not divisible by teams. Is
that not the case?

Perhaps you got some email offline that we do not know about. If so,
we certainly understand.

Take care and see you when your military thing is over. :-)

Guys

I will apologies if I have done what Harlan said is complaining.

If I caused any offense I am truly sorry.

I rarely enter into these 'chat' formats.
I truly was looking forward to a fun tourney with Newbies. especially in the
SW region

Personally I do not care whether or not we play 1000, 1200 1500 or 1600
points with two or more players to a side regardless of the table size.

I think FUN is the operative word. For this type of event.

I would ask Harlan to please reconsider.
And take 'us' complainers with a grain of salt.

He is the regional coordinator so, we can easily follow what ever he comes up
with. I am sure everyone who plans to attend will have a great time.

With humble regards

Grant

Harlan

I agree with Mark.

I can empathise with your frustration with everyone putting in their
two cents, but don't take this too personally.

The fact that you are experimenting with a new format may have
contributed to the extra feedback.

As the tournament director you can choose to take imput (or not), and
at some point you can say this is the way it's going to be.

At that point players wil choose whether or not they want to
participate. It is NOT your job to accomodate everyone.

I for one have appreciated the fact that you have gone out of your
way to organize this and other tournaments.

Well ... I finally opened up my email and read the responses and
criticisms on the NASAMW S.W. Region site from the players in D/FW.

Harlan, I do not blame you for cancelling the tournament, and if you
are not busy, perhaps we can do something at David's home.

JUST FOR THE RECORD, Harlan has sat out the last two tournaments in
Dallas due to uneven numbers, and before that has taken a nice
financial bath several times to keep the tournament season together
while in the growth stages.

We in the S.W. Region of the NASAMW owe Harlan a vote of thanks. He
does an EXCELLENT job, is an asset to our region and to WARRIOR in
general.

Take care ... Greg

I offer him nothing less. Thanks Harlan for all the hard work and
sacrifice.

If he does not, the tourny will still go on. Contact myself or Patrick at
cuan@... if you still wish to attend. We ARE playing at LS that day.
If we get 8 (we still have 6) or more there will be a tourny. If we only
get the 6 we have now, it will be a multiway Fast Warrior Demo tourny thing
with Mike the store manager.

>Harlan: Do what you feel is best but remember, 30 gamers will give you 45
opinions, none of which, in this particular case, seem to be directed at you
personally. Believe me, after umping and organizing this stuff for 15 years
now, you do what you think is best for the venue and area. If it works, great.
If not, you can go back to the drawing board. Any player who doesn't want to
participate because of the format is certainly free NOT to participate but if
they show up, should play by the format in question and enjoy themselves:)Smile:)
