Jon,

In 9.23 for LTS, it says "A Second rank of LTS fights at full effect if close formation or countercharging enemy foot, otherwise at half effect."

Does close formation mean Close Order, so LMH/LHI troops with LTS never fight teo full ranks?

Also, if charging impeteously, foot LTS fight two ranks if they meet the above, right?

Thanks,
Todd

Todd, you are miss quoting,

It says Close order foot and charging or counter charging enemy foot, CLOSE ORDER is the bottom line, so your second line is correct.

You get the two full ranks if charging impetuously but lose the +2 for being impetuous.

Mike,

My copy, on page 82, lower right side, says "A second rank of foot using LTS fights at full effect if close formation and charging or countercharging enemy foot, otherwise at half effect."

Because it says close formation, thats why I am asking. Maybe its a misprint?

Todd

Close formation and close order are the same thing.

Loose order LTS never get 2 full ranks. I am 99% sure there is no list rule exception either.

You mean, other than Warrior's most common loose order LTS troop type, Hypaspists? Wink

Oops. lol

I was thinking Irreg, because Todd plays Araucanian. Of course there are reg loose order exceptions (esp. since they are really close order who are getting a 'loose order exception' for movement...lol)

Quit your sharpshooting and go play...lol

Okay, since we're correcting each other here

Close order never get a +2 for being impetuous. It's +1 for being impetuous and you get that. I think what Mike was meaning to say is that you do not get to make your opponent take a -2 verses LTS if you are charging impetuously. Is that what you meant, Mike?

I think Mike was under the impression that I was talking about loose order Irr LTS armed guys, hence the +2.

Either way, I got the answer to the question I was asking, so its all good now.

Kelly, tell Mike to email me about our game.

Todd,

This should probably go on the KC Warrior League, but what the heck. I had breakfast with him this morning and he is aware of the situation. Good Luck in your game!
