I am just getting back into Warrior after an absence of several years. What are the armies du jour these days. I myself am an old school pike and elephant guy, but I suspect I am going to find myself well behind the fashion curve on what the latest Killer army is. What is the well-dressed General wearing?

Well... Once again there is a constant flux in Warrior armies being chosen. The recent trend this past NICT was JAPANESE (5 of the 30 armies were scary LEHI).

You could always take a look at the results of the NICT and see what type of armies are being chosen.

There are typically a fair amount of knight armies - the lance rule of rank and a half made almost all knight armies viable - not just Teuts or Sicilian. In fact Tuets (and to a lesser extent Sicilian) has almost dropped off the face of the earth

Macedonians (Alex Imp. and Seleucid) are very popular again considering the new pike rules.

Dark age armies have become almost non-existent, but the new playetest rules are attempting to balance the game ... again.

Will the army trend swing back to SHK - the challenge against the hoards or Japanese armies, or will people look to elephants, thinking that there will be just such reaction to the Japanese armies w/ SHK???
