This is a proposal for a 15mm Warrior event. It is mainly addressed to the group in the DC area (can we run this one one time Tim!) but I am also interested in commentary from players elsewhere on this idea.

I have an idea for Warrior for what is sometimes referred to as an "escalation" tournament.

You would play three 15mm rounds all on a standard 6x4 table with the terrain rules per that table size. Each round would require an army list which stands on its own as a legal list.

However...
1. For the first round you would create a 1200-point list.
2. For the second round you would add to the existing 1200-point list to create a 1600-point list.
3. For the third round you would add to the existing 1600-point list to create a 2000-point list.

Here's the schtick each time you increase the points in your list...
1. You may not change the training/class/morale, type/armor, or weapons/equipment of any element (even generals) already taken. All previously used elements must remain exactly as already played.
2. You must keep all bodies and units intact as already played (even generals), you may not decrease the number of elements in any unit or change or exchange any elements between units.
3. However, you may add more elements to an existing unit to make it larger provided it is legal to do so without changing any of the elements already taken.
4. You may, of course, also add entirely new units to the army as long as doing so is legal given the units already fielded.
5. You may shift units/bodies between different generals' commands between rounds provided all list criteria are met in each round.
6. It is perfectly acceptable to decide on the list contents for the first round, and the upgrades for the following rounds, after pairings are announced as long as the overall list name/book/number used is what is advertised to the organizer before the first round pairings are generated.

The added challenge here is to play well on a more sparse and a more crowded table, and to make lists which can perform well at all three points levels with essentially the same core forces and the list-legal and troop mix decisions forced by selecting those core forces.

Sounds like fun ...

1) Is fatigue maintained from round to round, or is some fatigue recovered.

2) Can shaken / offboard troops be recovered offboard?

3) Are routed / destroyed units permanently lost?

4) How do force marches work?

5) Do new units comiong on board deploy using normal deployment rules? It might most fair if they arrived in their own rear zone (i.e., no force marching).

6) Are flank marches continued from round to round?

7) Is each round entitled to flank marches?

8) Can retreating commands be recovered by reinforcements entering the board on subsequent rounds?

9) Can reinforcements be held for later rounds vice entering on the round designated for their points value?

10) Are round based reinforcements 'pooled reserves', or are they a specific force that enters on a round?

11) As an idea, what about rolling for reserves each round?

all normal rules used. more tournament less campaign.
so fatigue, troop state, etc all "reset" for next round like any tournament.
all the deployment rules just like a normal game too.
