Ok maybe I'm alittle fixated at the moment, If I wanted to read up on instances in history where detachments were used and there effectiveness,
where would one look? any books to look at ect?
I'm wondering how historical warrior is in it's depiction of detachments and how they operate.
curiosity rains supreme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out Bar-Koch-va's "Seleucid Army." Especially the part pertaining to the battle of Beth Zacharia. Particular attention is given to the elephants being able to have light horse, heavy cav, and infantry detachments that were used effectively during this battle. This is quite interesting stuff.
