I've installed the latest code so that the forum won't get hacked again. It should also cut down on the spam and registration bots.

That being said, the Album section has some bad code linking pages to it. I'm working on the code and should have it fixed this week. So if get an error message after clicking on the Album link, be patient, I'll get it back up.

The data is all still there, I just need to tweak the code.

You'll also see that you can't respond to a post. You can start a new one but can't respond. Will be working on that too. Sigh.

Hi, Scott here.

The update to the site's code didn't work so hot so I reverted to our previous version.

In the process, we lost some of the protection we had against porn spammers and the like. I'll be attempting to rework the code this week.

So, if you see something offensive, be assured that I'll delete is as soon as I see it and am working to make sure it doesn't happen again.

In order to effectively work on the forum code, I need it to stay "live".

Of course that means keeping it up to all the spammers and porn bots. So, I've set the forum to that you can read it but nobody except me can post to it.

This should buy me enough time to figure out things and get all the code nice and tidy.

Okay folks, we're pretty much back online.

I have to tweak one thing, up top where the album icon is located, you'll see there's nothing that says "album". That's a minor thing which I'll have resolved shortly.

I've instituted a number of security policies on the forum that will hopefully (hold on while I sacrifice a goat and toss its entrails) stop the bots and spammers. Two are a series of stumbling blocks to stop auto registration, these being a visual code you have enter and a confirmation question.

More importantly, I've stopped allowing any guests to post here. Since the vast majority of you post under your registered user ids, this shouldn't pose a problem. By blocking guest posting, we stop virtually every issue that's plagued the forum since day one.

Now, as for the Serb bastards who hacked the index page, there's nothing I can do other than hope that the code upgrades here will make that task harder next time.

Sorry for the inconvienience not to mention the occasional very work unfriendly Russian porn postings. Clearly we won the Cold War but still have a long way to go in this war.
