Hi,

Recently in a game of Picts vs. Japanese, we had a unit of Pict light chariots frontally charge a unit of Japanese samurai (IB LEHI LB 2HCT/1HCW) in the open. The chariots charged in, the Japanese rolled up, and the chariots bounced out tired and disordered. Then three of us got confused on the rules about whether an irregular loose order foot unit that stood to receive had to rally afterwards or not. All three of us kept thinking that the samurai were supposed to rally afterwards but when we checked page 31 there didn't seem to be a requirement to rally.

Is this just a case of three older players getting confused and just remembering an older version of the rule or did we miss the rule that required irregular foot to rally that stands to receive a mounted charge, passed its waver, didn't even take a cpf from the combat, and did not destroy its opponent?

Jamie

Such a body is not in a mandatory rally situation.

Page 31 was the right place to go for the answer.
