New to the system and have not played WRG type ancients since 1990. I am trying to build Anglo-Danish, Viking, and Norman list for 2010 Cold Wars. Having problems remembering what some of the line codes mean.

For Ex: List 36 Anglo-Danish

Saxon Huscarls Irr B HI 1/2 2HCW, Sh, 1/2 JLS, Sh @24 pts....4-16

Would this mean if I buy 16 elements and make 4 Units of 4 Elements each, I must have 2 units armed with 2HCW, and 2 Units with JLS? Or does it mean that in each of my 4 element Units, I must have 2 Stands of 2HCW figures in the front rank, and then 2 Stands of JLS figures in the back rank? Don't you count JLS as a +1 as part of close combat in addition to the damge from the 2HCW?

As I understand 2.52 you can have mixed weapons in a Unit, but I don't really understand how you would work that out on the base weapon factors sheet. Thanks.

Half of the elements you get must be 2HCW,Sh and the other half must be JLS,Sh.

That's it...it implies nothing with regard to how you make up your units. You are free to do absurd things that will disadvantage you.

You'll generally want to be 2HCW,Sh front rank and JLS,Sh second rank. The 2nd rank will then fight with half its figures at 'other infantry' factor and generally +1 for JLS.
