Looking at teh deployment - your legionairs on the hill are pretty vulnerable should he have moved light cav on a forced mach - you have a lot of flanks for a turn
Otherwise looks like you should own the table as you own the center - what was the result?

If you look below the pictures there is a short description of each turn and what each picture represents. I ended up winning but it was close. The main part of the battle revolved around my left flank his right. This was his second game and he played well.

HI
Very good. I really enjoyed it . I play Romans sometimes. I was interested in seeing you forced marched the legions. As Robert pointed out flanks become very important. I felt it was really important that it came down to General vs General .
Did holding the center help you or hurt you?
What would have happened if he just moved more force to your left?
Thanks for the pics and the AAR

P.S. love your painting table. How do you keep it so neat. Mine looks like a paint sink hole

Well how do I keep it so neat...I cheat. No I had just finished a project so when I get done I clean up before starting a new mess. You should have seen it the day before.

Holding the hill in the center was more of a defensive manuever I felt more then offensive. I didn't want him to get up there with his large Auxillia units and just stick his tongue out at me. In the long run holding the center just made the flank battle more important.

About him moving more force left I think this would of hurt him more than helped him since starting on the table I had 2 more units then he did. If he started moving stuff to the left I would have tried more to delay on that side and just push my cav up my right side and into his left flank.

We are going to do a larger battle in the next couple of weeks, so we will see what happens. Middle Imperial Romans vs. Middle Assyrians.
