There is a gaming convention in Portland Maine May 14th, and I would like to organize a warrior tournament - can people let me know what their likely availability would be?
I will let you know once I have exact dates if there is general interest
Thanks
Robert

Hi
As bizzarre as it might seem, I might actually be able to make it. It is a ways off in the future but Portland has one important location. It is about an hour and half from my daughter in NH. If I can get my daughter free that weekend and my wife is up for the trip to NH. I might be able to make it. Since my wife can stay at my daughter, it helps

Robert hi,

as a follow up to our conversation at CW2011. You will be running a Tournament at Huzzah 2011? 25mm? etc

Regards, Dennis

I am planning on running a 25mm Warrior tournament - depending on number of people participating.
3 Rounds 1600 points per - pre-set terrain 3 hrs per round - we will probably use the new deployment rules, or if Scott or Eric has a different recommendation whatever that is.
Barbarian foot rules, EHC skirmishing, and possibly a theme - that does not exclude anything but incentivises people to run chariots etc.
Probably me refereeing and playing - and I will read the rules and Xrules carefully to make sure that at least I know the letter thereof.
All the best

Bad news - venue is overfull - they cannot offer even two tables for the whole daqy Saturday.
I am looking for another venue, howeverb would appreciate a headcount - Dennis, Myself and Binks confirmed, any other people who are/were planning to come if I find an alternate venue?
Please let me know

Deployment:

Player with highest scouting number chooses his starting side; if equal points, players roll, high die picks starting side.
Scouting ratio of 3:1 = lesser force deploys 360p from baseline, greater deploys up to center line; 2:1 = less force deploys 240p from centerline, greater deploys up to center line; 1:1 = remaining forces deploy up to 120p from the centerline.

That was from Fall In 2010. At Cold Wars 2011, we modified it slightly in that the first person to put out a command had to put out their largest command first.

One modification to even that should be after that command goes onto the table, the opponent then places his largest command. After that, anything goes.

Command size is number of bodies in the command. If you have equal-sized commands, you pick which one gets placed.
