the hated enemy, (based on the movies), however in theme I think this is a very strong army, based on a few key areas:
Scouting is probably going to be less than 30 for mst armies, and you could realistically outscout most opponents (but may not want to):
Secondly your cavalry is superior to any greek cavalry in the lists, with Bactrians, Saka
Third you have scythed chariots - that may work for you.
So saying my first list would include the king of Kings, and look like this:
King of Kings on chariot 130
Sub + Royal guard Reg A HC L
Sub + Royal guard Reg A HC L
Royal Guard Reg A HC L
Royal Guard Reg A HC L
Persian Cavalry Reg C HC JLS (maybe add shield) 106
Satrapal LC Reg D LC Jls 1.2 sh 58
Satrapal LC Reg D LC Jls 1.2 sh 58
Saka Nobles 4 elements IRR B Hc, L, B 121
Saka Nobles 4 elements IRR B Hc, L, B 121
Saka LC Irr C LC B 1/2 sh
Saka LC Irr C LC B 1/2 sh
Royal Guard Infantry Reg A HI, LTS, SH 138
6 Scythed Chariots 144
Peltasts LMI Reg C LTS, Jls, sh 90
Takabara LMI Jls sh Reg C/D 62
Takabara LMI Lts sh Reg C/D
(maybe LTS but then cannot Run- may be better to use two more units of HC, L, B and go virtually all mounted
Li Peltasts Li, jls, sh
Strategy is very simple - as you have more scouting points the opponent puts down his command first - you line up the scythed chariots and charge cavalry takabara in on the disordered troops after 6 scythed chariots go in - the big concern is what happens when your scythed chariots get sprung by LI, but there are ways around that
Thoughts anyone?

I don't want the army. They are anathema to me. Leonidas would never be so traitorous

Looks like you have breathed new life into the scythed chariots. Good going. Lets see, how do I get 81 scouting points out of my Syracusians? Very Happy I think the mule teams for the 30 mina stone throwers count for one 1 each, thats 12 and the ballistas are on light mule carts, so that is 3 each Very Happy. I am sure I can find 33 more somewhere.

Against Hoplites
For 16 man hoplite units they are 8@4 =24 the scythed chariots are 4 @7 =24
+1 for the scythed cahriots and even for the Hoplites = rout
Peltasts do better, but must take the waver test
It is not guaranteed- but a good battle that you should win , and the ability to pick your fights after the first clach of cahriots - destroy the light troops and find flanks - not guaranteed but lots of fun

Ahhhhh Syracusean I once thought of getting the army. Regardless, Sparta and Syracuse were allies. But I do think that a good X rule would be having an Archimedes rule. I would broach that idea with Scott H but I think he would just consider the source and say "Well, No" and he would be right Laughing

Again, I would caution you from making specific lists without a guideline of theme rules and troops permitted/ruled-out and possible points handicapping.

We're working on all this.
