"Gugs waiting to die". Sounds like my whole strategy.

They still fight two ranks on the charge and are great for Scythed chariots and the like.
Or to get the super deap Taxis to rush past Spartans who can then hit them in the flank- or for killing Persians
Also Reg A and B HI is very expensive these guys are super cheap

Thanks
Good plan.
I think I will get all I can get and use them like sponges to absorb other attacks and slamming with my Spartans.
thanks Robert.

Yes...the benefit to the Neodamodeis is that you have your line of Spartan Unit/Neos/Spartan...and the Spartans won't waver when the Neos rout...of course, a savvy opponent will place units that can evade the Spartans in front of those to keep them honest (and away from the flanks of whatever they're routing your Neos with)...so be careful.

Make note to self: When playing Hoplites , be wary of Frank G . He knows my strategy.

Like every game the Spartans are as good as their general - - vs. the super deeep Taxis - you should either have a good face up battle or many more troops - remember that Spartans can always counter - so you haev the option to deny battle for a while.
Good army - but not great for open type combat

THanks a lot
I am getting some really good tips here. Again I have to remember that the Spartans can counter. I am starting to get my Neo-guys set up so I can intersperse them with the Spartans.. I will have to try this out with Matt K sometime.

Ed - I will be in Ware MA on Monday night - nolt sure how far that is from you, but we could maybe get a game?
You could try Spartans against maybe early Carthaginian?
It's the only period army I have and even then I would be subbing some stuff
