Dammit, I can't remember Dwyght's wife's name. Mea culpa.

Points are Adjusted/Raw.

Thanks to Greg for his willingness to float on Friday. Thanks to Bill and Eric for splitting up their Doubles partnership to play solo on Saturday so that we wouldn't have an odd number of teams. It helped that Bill brought down loaner armies.

A word on the Best Camp award. Greg built Rob Turnball a camp as a prize for winning the NICT last year. It's a Hellenstic camp that will work perfectly for Rob's pike trash armies plus the Hoplite army he's building for the theme. Greg presented Rob with the camp at Cold Wars. But Greg also brought along two scratch-built trebuchets which he used with his Ghaznavid list. You can see photos of them in Mark Stone's Cold Wars AAR thread. Incredible modeling and painting. I just couldn't pass up giving him the award.

Other camps of note were Dan's from his Wallachian list, Christian's from his Early Hoplites and Dave Beatty's Tibetan camp. Dave's was really cute in that he scratch built these "big" horns being blown by monks. He had a little Buddha along with the monks and a couple of woolly oxen that he also scratch built. All in 15mm!

We had some amazing spectacles over the weekend. As I mentioned in Mark's thread, Rich Kroupa's second game was on the table with the major water feature and he deployed his longboat. Combined with the awesome shieldwalls and the opponent, Greg's gorgeous Ghaznavids, that was probably the best looking game of the weekend. However, we had no shortage of great looking armies.

Our move to preset terrain is still an ongoing process in that we're continuing to build on what we have. Feedback has been generally positive. Everyone agrees the games now look far better and the terrain is slowly approaching the quality level of the armies. We now have some nice looking plowed fields (rough). We're working on marshes and also plan on doing a "desert board" as soon as Rich or I figure out how to model sand dunes. Eric wants to have some form of BUA, either a walled compound that's effectively non-enterable or something in "no man's land" that could cause problems for both players.

The deployment system also helps speed up the games. Not everybody feels the need to *ever* stop their game before the time limit but I have seen a marked change to the overall number of games that finish "early".

Very Interesting Results:???? Question Idea
Jevon pushing an Early Hoplite . Leonidas(EdK) will have to be informed of this new development, a new opponent to Spartan hegemony has arisen on the borders of the Berkshires. Cool
Also BillL came in last with the Carthos. Others might be surprised at this but Leonidas now KNOWS that Agapelogos(BillL) is saving his troops for the more important engagement in the Sicilian Campaign(Berkshire) , Carthos vs. Spartan/Roman alliance (EdK/MattW) on March 31. The Carthos now have become veterans but not exhausted themselves.
I wonder if the Carthos general in Sicily(Berkshire) Mattilcar (MattK) has received these reports.
