Unaware of the happenings in the center, Acco(Matt Webster) stood in his chariot and waited. Hold and Wait lingered in the air as a sweet aroma that wafted lazily around the troops.
Suddenly, an Athenian hoplite on the end lulled into serenity by the waiting turned his gaze dreamily to his left. What he saw turned his blood cold and fear seized him.
“Gallic Cav charging on our flank!!! “He screamed.
Heads turned and once calm faces, transformed into faces of horror. The Senones Heavy Cav on the Flank plunged into the shielded flank of the hoplites. The Hoplites did not run but the damage was done. They stumbled and fell over each other.
Acco(Matt Webster)watched with intense pleasure, threw his head back, his laughter raucous, and shouted ecstatically.
“The appropriate moment has come. Come my children!!! Lay on!! Charge!!!!!”
The Senones Heavy Cav facing the hoplites returned the shout and sped off into the shaken and disordered Hoplites. Chopping as they went.

Damaphades still trying to rally his Allied Hoplites received word of the problem on his left. He veers to Agathon.
“Run to those Light Cav and tell them to race to the left and stabilize it.”
Agathon races off and soon two Light Cav units, one Thracian, the other Thessalian are speeding to the left.

Maeve’s stern visage pierced the air as she beheld the routing Greek Light Cav to her right front. She bent over the chariot side and grabbed a runner without moving her gaze from the front.
“Tell the Boii in the wood there on the left to wheel and attack the Thracians.”
She gestured to her driver and the chariot leapt forward. As she approached the Nervii and Voscontii, she shouted.
“Men of the Voscontii and Nervii must I tell your women that the Boii had to finish the work which you could not.”
To a man they rose and clamored and blew their horns.
“Then turn and bring me back the Thracian and Greek standards.”
They raced back into the fray.

Acco(Matt Webster) stood, arms extended with shield and spear chanting a Celtic song raced to the front. Reminiscent of a Druid priest, his singing spread fear among the Greeks like a spell. Soon the once sweet aroma of calm that permeated the air now reeks of fear. The contagion mushroomed out and spared neither man nor beast. Soon the courage of stalwart Hoplites melted as wax before the flame.
The plague enveloped the Light Cav, sent to rescue, now became victims. Even the sturdy Thracians fell prey as horse, wide eyed with terror reared and neighed

Maeve’s chariot dashes along the line. Her shrewd tactical sense felt victory within her grasp. Soon her gaze falls upon Damaphades’ Allied Hoplite trying to rally. She veers her Chariot toward the Insubrii war band.
“Men of the Insubrii, there!!!” She points toward the Allied Hoplites.
“There!!!! Break them and victory is ours.”
Soon Celtic war horns are clapping and screams fill the air.
Damaphades hearing the din; turns and immediately realizes the peril. He whirls his head toward Agathon and shouts, pointing to the Peltast on his left.
“Have the Peltast cover us!!!”
Unfortunately, they could not shield them enough. The War band collided into the Peltasts but were just able to step forward enough to strike the hoplites. Rapidly, Damaphes was carried away with route.

Pressed on all sides Xenophon’s attention is broken by a call
“Xenophon!! Your right!!”
He twists his head right and beholds only the bodies of the dead. Where once the stalwart Thracians stood and fought, now only their bodies lay. They died to a man. He turns to the left and witnesses the routing Allied Hoplites of Damaphades; completing his survey he can see Crodes falling back.
“Xenophon!! Let’s fall back now while we still have some Thessalian Cav to cover us!!” Implores Sotires.
Xenophon lowers his head and signals the withdraw.

A rider reigns up to Maeve’s Chariot and questions.
“They are withdrawing. Should we push on and pursue them?”
Maeve glanced across the field nonchalantly.
“No” she muttered. “Let the Greek mice scurry home to their marble holes and beg their marble gods for deliverance.”

Acco(Matt Webster) still chanting his celtic song traversed the battleground littered with dead Greeks accompanied by his Heavy Cav heading for the Greek Camp. His war bands trotting close behind.

Hours later on a hill on the road to Larissa, Xenophon looked back surrounded by the remnant of his army. He could see the fires of the Gallic camp where his camp once stood. HIS CAMP! Another casualty of this battle, the camp. The material losses to his men were great. He, himself, lost some personal gifts lost in the camp that Agapelogus has given him.
He turned and continued the march to Larissa and eventually Sparta.
