I am thinking about boats. Bill L gave me this idea in the Sicilian Campaign game.
How does one buy a boat.??
I have been looking at the rules(surprise, surprise Rolling Eyes )
It says that it is a point for each fighting fig. But then it says that you adjust your list for the cost.
If I wanted to put a 4El unit of Peltasts on a boat. So would it be :
A) 90pts for the boat and the unit is free
B) 90pts for the boat and 90pts for the unit, total 180pts
C) Make a deal with Cilician Pirates, and hope they show up on the coast.

16 points for the peltasts - I believe it is a point per figure - but check - and then you remove 16 points from a unit.
With preset terrain this is not going to work well unless you are playing the pre- flood Noah theme
Unless it counts as a fortress or defended obstacle -

We had pre-set terrain at Cold Wars and Rich "boated" up some Vikings.

Not sure how that was done procedurally.

Back to point(surprising for Kollmer)
So
a) 16pts for the Peltasts in the boat and subtract 16pts from list, thereby losing some figs from a any unit
b) 16pts for the Peltasts in the boat , then subtract 16pts from the Peltast in the list
c) Continue to try getting the Cilician Pirates and continue to pray they show.
