Coast of Britain(Ewancon): (game 1)

The dark clouds of the early Fall moved slowly across the sky making the day dreary and dank. Livius sat on his white mount eyeing the terrain and the forming bands of the enemy. The coast was on his right flank. Three large brush areas in a triangular shape on his left flank with a rough hill in the distant left corner of the field.
“These Irish are a rude and arrogant people. They should know that they ought to scurry back to their bleak island.” Trusus spouted.
“This is no mere raiding party. O’Kovelain(Jake Kovel) is leading this army. This is serious. He does not raid but conquer. He is not arrogant but calculating. He is testing our strength in Britain.” Cautioned Livius.

(Three large Galloglaich units stretched from the coast to the first brush with three large Bonnacht warbands facing the brush with a unit of LC between the Galls and the Baonnachts and a unit of LI between the first and second Bonnacht. With mixed HC and MC unit behind the LC. )

Livius turned to Trusus casually. “Form up the cohorts. Position the full cohorts to face the Gallos with the short cohorts between them. Place the Praetorians at each end of the cohorts. Put the Javelin Auxilia and Velites in the left brush . Put the bow Auxilia to work digging a ditched Palisade between the two brushes on our left with the bolt shooters.”
Trusus reined his horse to the left and galloped off to the advancing cohorts.

Livius turned his gaze to the left as his expression bowed seriously.
“I hope Polibius can make it through those hills and brush on his flank march.”

Soon the two lines were facing each other. The cohorts eager for victory pushed forward to destroy these invading foes. Soon the Gallos unleashed a hail of darts upon the cohorts as they closed.
2HCW, Javelin v HTW, sword exploded upon the damp morning. The cohorts recoiled from the barbaric charge.
Shortly, the centurions’ whistles shrilled the air to signal exchanging ranks. As well timed machines the ranks rotated and suddenly the Galls were facing a fresh rank.
Abruptly, the Galls charge was blunted as the fight devolved into a massive melee.

On the left the Bonnachts moved into the brush and faced off against the Jls Auxilia and Velites. The Bonnachts closed to flank the Roman left. The Velites skirmished and fell back to cover the end of the line. Before long the far left Bonnacht unit crossed over from one brush to the next exposing themselves to the artillery and Auxilia fire.

Polibius appeared on the Irish right but was faced by a rough hill and narrow terrain. He navigated adroitly through the defiles but was almost immediately faced by the mixed HC/MC units. With no alternative, the Roman Cataphrate charged and locked.

Finally, the main battle line deteriorated. The far right cohort routed the Galls facing them, but the other cohorts were not so fortunate. The Full cohort broke and the short cohorts shook from the break. The lone Praetorian cohort on the left shoulder was left standing as the command retreated.

Livius realizing that the battle was lost signed to Polibius to break off and rendezvous back at the camp.

Within a few days, the south coast of Britain was in flames.
