If you want to get the feel for what medieval life was like I highly suggest Ken Follett's novels - Pillars of the Earth and World without End. Long books, but hugely engaging in their plot twists and character development. I loved both of them and it gives you a real look at the difficult life of the medieval world.

World without End is a continuation of sorts - so worth a read - just finished it! _________________ Nolite te Bastardes Carborundorum
