I just really don't like having no scouting points and thus deploying in my rear 360p...
I suppose I could force march a few units up to 240 from the center (at 2 fatigue each) to preclude the enemy pinning me back...
Is that what you do, Jamie? |

HAHA! you may be right Jamie!
Scouting is a big deal sometimes.....but Aztecs seem to deal
Frank has a point...do you force march a lot or just press forward?
I did like the list you used at HCon
The Irg A are warriors you can get in the base list....they could help a lot but I did worry they simply retracted from the strength of the army as a whole |

MesoAmericans don't mind being 'stuck back' in their 360 as they operate primarily in a defensive mode, reacting to the enemy.
Zulus need to attack, except where they need room to evade.
Also, Irr A Warriors on the Zulu/Ndebele list cannot be commanded by Regular Generals, Matt, so you'd have to have an Irr Ally to command those. |

As far as the being outscouted everytime, after a couple of games you just don't care any more. You are always going to deploy 360 in and then advance another 120. No lancers on the first bound even starting at the center line can get to within 40 paces of you, so you are ready to charge or evade as needed. It sound weird, but being out scouted here is actually working to your advantage due to the space. The other part is your opponent sees where your troops are going, but for Zulu, so what. Everyone knows that you are going to be spread out across the table width with RB LMI.
Using RA LMI HTW JLS Sh as your light infantry means not losing any units to enemy LC. |
