I've changed the Orders of a dead general's command from Retreat to Hold by recovering a shaken unit. How do I now change this from Hold to attack so I can get units that retreated off table to return? More generally, how DO dead general's commands receive new orders?
Cheers. 🙂

Commands with dead generals...are in dire trouble.

As they have no general, nothing can prompt any of them...other than a CinC JOINED to a unit of said command.

Their orders can also never change...other than as you noted, from Retreat to Hold.

Note that a Broken general also cannot issue or change orders.

Wow! I didn't realize. When a 2iC replaces a CiC does he:
1....Stay with his original command leaving the CiC's original Command (if any) generaless?
2....Move to the original CiC's Command (if any) leaving his own generaless?
3....Now Command both Commands (if there are 2) in some fashion?

I'm guessing Option 1 above.
Thanks again! 🙂

Yes, #1, the 2InC is now CinC, but cannot prompt the units of the no longer appearing in this film former CinC (without joining such)...as the 2inC remains general of his own command.
