Most chariots in most books seem to have archers, multiple passengers, etc. However, from Biblical Warrior on, their are chariots whose historical purpose was mostly to transport armored noble warriors to the front. This X. Rule would probably have to be specified by army list, but if broadened, would apply to any Light chariot whose fighting crew has only JLS or melee weapons as their armament.
Such chariots would not be disordered by mounting or dismounting their occupants, nor would those occupants lose a morale class if Irregular when dismounted. This would allow Ancient Britains, for instance, or Mycenaeans, to ride to the front, dismount tactically, and march on.
As they would still dismount 3:1 and still be chariots, it's not as if they'd rule to gaming table--they'd just be able to more easily simulate their real use.
Or so I think....
