I need an idea of who's attending. It's 2 months out so not that far in advance.

I'm doing the Lampeter floor plan and available space will be tight so I really need a decent head count.

Spread the word regarding this post.

Okay, I asked Rich if Hussites were done, they are. I then asked if he'd bring them, I assume at 1600pts, because I'm gonna try out the following slate of rules:

1. Artillery mounted on wagons can both move and shoot in the same bound (but still cannot both prep AND support shoot).

2. Hussite wagons that are mobile may deploy without reorganizing wagon position as a charge response.

3. Hussite Organ Guns have one shooting range, 160p, out to which they fire 2xcrew (six figures firing per model).

4. The recall range for Light Infantry entirely in non-difficult terrain with respect to Hussite Wagons is 80p instead of 40p.

5. Shooters not mounted in wagons with a Hussite wagon ahead of them in their body may also fire 360.

6. Hussite artillery in wagons see over LI and may shoot over LI if all other shooting priorities are followed.

7. Hussite opponents must assign all commands Attack Orders.

8. Hussite wagons must deploy at least 120p away from any table edge.

9. No incendiaries unless your army has them regularly (think fire lances, hand-hurled naptha bombs, etc). This will not be a "adjust your list so you can burn down Hussite wagons", tournament.

1-5 have been playtested several times, 6-9 have not.

The idea here is to have fun and see what works. When we do this in 5 years, army list selection will be exceedingly restricted so this is actually a good test as it'll be an Open format. We'll also use this as a playtest because I plan on doing something similar for Hussites for Doubles at Cold Wars.

Scott, with respect to seeing and shooting over LI for Hussite wagon troops:
That applies to any LI of either player?

That applies regardless of the distance from the Hussite wagon n troops to the LI or the distance from the LI to what is behind it?

Do Hussite shooters on foot behind a wagon get that benefit?

No. Unless it's the difference between you coming and not coming.

Applies to either
Applies regardless of distance
Shooters behind wagons do *not* get benefit

I didn't see an answer to these in your post...sometimes our software can fail us.

Some more commentary about a couple of test statements, Scott:
"7. Hussite opponents must assign all commands Attack Orders.

8. Hussite wagons must deploy at least 120p away from any table edge."

Folks having to have Attack Orders for their commands against a Hussite opponent who 'rings the corner' in a defensive posture, will rightfully just parade ground march units in circles to satisfy Attack.

If there isn't room for that, or some such, then they'll just get to 480p from the Hussite army somewhere relatively safe and slowly move half their commands forward on Approaches 40p each time until time runs out.

Why? Well, attacking an emplaced ring of Hussite wagons in the corner is absolute suicide...a good way to score 0 points and hand the Hussite player 5.

You may be attempting to ameliorate this with (Cool, above, Hussite wagons cannot deploy within 120p of any table edge...but...that's no limitation as they can simply move a little, expand, deploy and...viola...right up against the table edge (or as close as practically needed).

Thus I don't think either of these additions are that necessary.
