Good day - a little review of Warlord Games' figures

SPQR - Dacians and Sarmations

Building the Sarmations that are resin are a huge, complicated procedure.

The figures are beautiful - the resin cavalry and riders have outstanding detail, HOWEVER, there are a lot of parts to glue together. The rider is cut in half at the torso and attaches to the horse where the bottom half is already part of the model. On most of the figures heed to be dremeled out to make it a clean fixing spot. You will also have to glue on the quivers and scabbards.

The horses are very flexible and a few tails have broken off and need to be pinned back on them. We'll see how the models hold up with game play. There are also metal versions which are easier for me to clean up/drill out. I'll use them on the outside of the bases to protect the resin/plastic ones.

The infantry seem to be sturdier. Detail is also outstanding. They come with decals so I will rate them as well when i get to affixing them.

more later

Todd

I assume, size wise, they are massive.

The size is pretty comparable to what we usually see. When I get to the foot I'll give an update on my appraisal of the figures.

Just ordered some First Corps foot - their elephants are outstanding, if a little huge.
