Hi,

If I understand the rules correctly (but maybe I'm wrong) any Reg troops may move backwards 40p during an approach phase (2 maneuvers and 40p left); an Irr cannot except turning its back.

So my question, is a backwards move allowed as a counter ? I mean full tactical move ?

thanks.

If I understand this correctly, sure.

You could take a Reg infantry unit, turn it 180, move full tac distance "backwards" for example.

As long as the restrictions on where you end up are met.

Be careful about wheeling while you are moving away from the enemy, as part of the Counter rules state:
"No part of the non-maneuver portion of a counter move may get closer to an enemy body within 240p."

This means that if a now rear corner of your countering body, while wheeling, would get closer to an enemy body, you cannot perform that motion (as it is a non-manuever).
