My flight to BWI on Tuesday was uneventful, the same coming back on Sunday cannot be said. Plane was coming from Jamaica, arrived late. Denver airport was clogged so they delayed flights from leaving. Then, 15 minutes after the scheduled, already-2-hours-late loading time, the people at Southworst said “there’s gonna be another delay because of a ‘security breach’. That’s a new one which meant another hour. We didn’t leave the ground until 11:15pm, 3.5 hours after scheduled. The light rail in Denver doesn’t run that late so my wife had to come get me at 12:45am Denver time. I gotta stop scheduling this particular time slot on Southworst because it’s *always* a disaster. Always.
Attendance at Hcon seemed robust. However, overall tourney attendance was down, some games more than others. We had 12 in the NICT and we typically draw 16-20. Because of that, I made the decision to do 2 games on Thu and 2 games on Sat. A fifth game is really hard to pair with just 12 players. That decision was met mostly with support. What it meant was that it left Saturday evening for Circus Maximus which Matt had brought. We had 11 people (I ran it, otherwise would have played) so a 10-player race is always highly entertaining especially when the wine flows.
Rules issues were few. In once case, I did something one way that’s actually in our current, almost-done, clarification sheet that was the opposite of what will come out. Oops.
Theme was great! Well, except for the fact we overweighted the Camillan list. Should have been a straight 1600pt list. We chalked it up to forgetting about the reduced command points. We had an odd number and Todd, very understandably, did not want to play so he randomly assigned byes with the exception of me and Don as our only games that weekend was the Theme whereas everybody else was also playing in the NICT. Again, not everybody was enthused about this but I totally get it. We’d brought up an army for me to play in the NICT if needed but fortunately, we had an even number.
Going forward regarding the NICT, if we have 12-14 players, it will still be a Thu/Sat event with 4 games. If more players, we’ll go to 5 games but I’ll make a cut after 4 games, probably Top 8 play the fifth game. I’ll worry about that next year.
Thanks, as always to:
Rich for making, storing and bringing the terrain.
Greg for his painted prize for the NICT winner.
Todd for umping the Theme.

Hello All,
Just a quick note. I just tested postive for COVID using a home test. I think I can trace it to a student in the lab from yesterday. If not there, it probably was traveling after the event. I just wanted to make you aware.
