Normally I'd agree, but with my IrrgA SHK 2HCT wife
unit, I'd rather appear compliant.

Sorry Boyd, I should have at the end of that last sentence. I was simply
pointing out that rule to help get you there faster, which is what it is for.
Hey, and your comments to that flaming egotist, Ewan, are dead on as far as this
is the place to share tactics. And I hate to break it to him, but he hasn't
exactly been revealing the secrets of the ages here....
Tough having three smart asses here, huh?

How do they disorder the opponent before being shot? They only cause Unease
to those within 240p, not disorder.
So I walk upto the bowmen and am good enough to line-up on them, at long
range I'm still being shot with 4 figs @ 3 = 10 or 2 CPF (based on per
Frontage). Then I only get to shot back at them with 2 bows (4total halved
for long range).
As for the cav, you must have a lot of EL's in the army as the cav ought to
be able to avoid 1 or 2 units as the Cav disorder is only within 80p. Bowed
cav can come upto 160p and skirmish and shoot you 3@3 while you are shoting
them 2@3 (v HC).
Also my cav get disordered By the my own EL's as well, so I can't use the
EL's to drive away their cav only to move in with mine.
I am not trying to be a cynic here, I'm just not seeing the EL's
awesomeness.

This I understand, even though their maneuverability is cut.

Right; but if they're moving to within 160p to shoot at you, you can
then move to within 80p; disordering. The shooting comes a bit from the
El but more powerfully from their supporting missile foot.

One of us is confused . You should not be running your El against
opposing foot bows; that is a bad idea, unsurprisingly (unless you're
Ghaznavid, and even then!). Opposing mounted bow can never shoot you at
full effect, because they're either at long range or disordered.

Well, imagine e.g. a 2El unit with two supporting foot bow units on a
wing; often the op wil wish to use e.g. LC on that wing, and it'll be
hard for them to avoid being swept away. And note again that even in
worst case (you take one long-range shot, next turn you move up to
disorder them; then when you-and-supporting-foot shoot, they're now
rallying disordered. That's a great charge target )

It will be in there....

I see your point. I will save this idea for when I run my EL's against a
bowed Cav army. Right now, I'm the only one in the area with that type
army.

Which is one reason why I'm suprised I don't see more LIR in 25mm given
the preponderance of El armies used in that scale. Okay, they ain't bow
but they still shoot well, can have good morale plus do well against
opposing foot. Yes they're more susceptible (in gross generalities) to
the knight armies that also predominate in 25mm but.......
