Thanks Scott. Is 7.6 er Warrior played at Twistercon, if not what do think we
could do to get it going? OK. city is not an airline hub is it?

>I have no idea about the hub part. Lemme see if I can summarize playing
groups around the country.

>Most places play DBM. Most places west of the Mississippi don't really
interact "nationally". That's been a byproduct of DBM and how we run it. One
exception to that would be gamers in Louisiana who've always been a world unto
themselves and rarely bothered to travel or play outside that area.

>The great state of Texas has always been an independent country in just about
everything, ancients included. I'm not making a perjorative statement here,
merely an acknoledgement that I can count on one hand the number of permament
Texas residents that I've seen at either Cold Wars or Historicon over the
years. And I know there are tons of ancients gamers in Texas. So, we've
always wanted to bring Mohomed to the mountain (get y'all to leave) but now
I'm more than willing to come down for a good sized tourney in anyplace
Southworst Airlines reaches:):)

>Warrior players remain concentrated in the East Coast. Warrior players
elsewhere don't play as much mainly because of the distances involved and the
fact that most ancients players switched to DBM. Now, there has been a
"backlash" of sorts, Texas being probably the "best" (in our context) example
of this where guys who've grown bored with DBM or tired of its endless
changes, are looking to get back into Warrior. Yes, there are players like
that scattered all over the country but there seem to be greater numbers of
them in Texas.

>TwisterCon is a prime example of many northern TX DBMers running a decent
sized tourney. Believe me, no HMGS regional convention will turn down an
ancients tourney. The key is to make sure we have enough players committed to
attending to make it worthwhile everybody traveling there (I can get to
TwisterCon in about 6 hours by car--I've been once and haven't gone again
because I have no interest in DBM much less DBM in 15mm).

Dave, not that FHE has done anything to promote this, but we have two warrior tournaments here in Kansas City during Call to Arms and Borderwars. Not to mention the tournaments held by Jake Kovel at his home. It seems to me that you should consider coming here since 3 of the four horsemen (money, rules, and earring) reside in this area.
