Ed:
My bad, actually elastomeric topping. Not sure of the trade use,
but works well because it is maleable before it sets and can be used
when making terrain. For example, texture and features (streams,
roads) can be "crafted" with a putty knife on top of terrain
features. It dries to a herd rubber texture that is easy to paint
over.
