Another benifit of 1E commanders (with Romans at least) is that they can
join an arty unit and direct their fire. I have used this to fair effect on
several occasions as my opponent was suprised by my LBS on carts shooting in
an unprepared for direction.

One limiting factor to this discussion is that with a couple of exceptions, ar
mies will be limited to no more than 4 generals.

This will only affect my FE as I use 5. My other 4 playable armies use 3 or
2. I am painting Fuedal German now, but they will escape under the 4 rule.
