Greg
I totally agree with you.
As I have said before, when the time comes for me to review (in my role as 25%
of the four horsemen) any list, I will be recommending in 99% of cases that
controversial troop types by offered in the list in BOTH the possible
interpretations.
Roman EHC/SHC are a great example. We may never know how close these guys were
to each other or how fast they charged, so we will let the player choose.
Rest easy.

I know the plan is for the Warrior list to eventually replace all other
lists, and I think we all agree that is a good thing. I would like to
suggest something that came to my mind last night during our Tuesday gaming
night while I was helping a new player build an Early Imperial Roman list.
If the Warrior lists are going to replace the old lists some day, I think
great care should be taken to include all the troop types that exist on the
old lists. We had a player about a year ago that played EIR and he was
astounded to find that the NASAMW list did not include Roman SHC. I know
there may be evidence that suggests that Roman SHC should instead be
HC,L,Sh, but I'm sure there was also evidence when the original list was
written with them as SHC, history is fluky that way.
The point I'm making is that guys are going to have the figures .... don't
make their carefully painted lead irrelevant. Perhaps a good solution would
be something along the lines of the NASAMW Palmyran list where it states
that Palmyran cavalry fought as Arabs and would be properly classed as EHC
L, but the SHC option is included for those that already have the figures.
Right now, if you don't like the way the NASAMW lists treat your army, you
can always use the old book list, but Scott has insisted several times (this
is not my first posting on this subject) that the Warrior lists will
sub-plant the old lists and there will be no grand fathering. So, consider
the results of these actions before troop types are removed from lists, :-)

Call your tournament a playtest and have at it!
Be sure to use the 10 July draft. The one you have now is getting more obsolete
with every keystroke.

The scythed chariots will be taken out, that decision was made when we bought
the rules.

Thank you Jon .... I really apreciate that!
On the other end, we are madly recruiting new players here to play Warrior.
Last night we had a guy that has not played anything but DBM since 5th
Edition and is expressing a bit of burn out in that set. He was very pumped
up about Warrior and how easy the rules were to read and digest. To me, this
is very important, as the whole goal for us around here is to get new
players to play Warrior and increase interest in our hobby. There is a
tournament in Dallas at the end of the Summer and I hear there will more
likely than not be some old 6th Guys playing. With your permission, of
course, we would like to use a draft version of Warrior for that tournament.
