Greetings;

For those of you interested, I have added some pictures of a
recently completed Roman ballista on a cart in my website gallery.

http://www.miniwars.com/25mmGallery.html

This is a modified First Corps cart with Foundry ballista and crew.
It's based on a 60 x 120mm Litko base. This probably isn't terribly
accurate since the mobile ballista's on Trajan's column indicates
the ballista's are pulled by a single horse. But, hey, a guy's
gotta do, what a guy's gotta do!

Also added my completed First Corps Maximus stand (with a Foundry
mounted Optio), and a shot of another stand of Romans.

Regards,

Dave

Wow Dave,

What beautiful work. If I might make a suggestion; I notice that all of your
figures you do a wonderful job of hiding the base of each figure in your
ground work so that it looks as thought the figures feet are standing on earth.
I
have modeled much of my work off what I see on your web site. You did not do
this with your two crew figures. It really is not hard at all to cut away
the bases on foundry figures and then file down to the soles of their feet. And
then you can glue them or even pin them to what is truly a piece of art.
Just a thought since everything you turn out looks so realistic.
Chris

<DS> Thank you for the kind words.

<DS> You don't know how many times I was going to do this, but to be
honest, I've been dinking around with this ballista on a cart for
some time now, and frankly, just wanted it done. I'm going to do 3
or 4 more, so will probably do just as you have suggested.
Eventually, I'll go back to this one, and redo it. I also noticed
from the picture that the ballista is actually a little tilted. :(
